Here at Lowcountry Pet Hospice and Home Euthanasia we provide compassionate, dignified care at the end of a pet's life. During an often sad and stressful time, our sole purpose is to help families determine the best path for their pet and guide them through difficult decisions with peace of mind. We strive to provide wrap around care from time of diagnosis, work as a team with primary and specialty veterinarians as well as their staff, until a natural passing or home euthanasia is requested. We also provide aftercare services of Aquamation, alkaline hydrolysis, for those who choose an alternative to fire based cremation.
Job Description:
Lowcountry Pet Hospice is seeking associate veterinarians. The scope of our practice focuses on in home end of life services including hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia. The candidate will be compassionate and patient with families and pets while working independently without the assistance of technical staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include seeing patients at their home setting when scheduled, willingness to follow established protocols, maintaining clear medical records in a timely manner, technical abilities including IV catheter placement without assistance, ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, and assisting aftercare staff with moving the pet from the home.
Qualifications:
SC driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
DEA license and SC Control Drug License. Education must include having earned a DVM from an accredited program and holding a current SC state license.
It is recommended, though not required, to have a current Rabies titer.
Compensation:
1099 to be paid an agreed upon rate and schedule per appointment.
